Customer Relations

Percent of Time

  • Obtain, verify and double check that you have the correct truck/vehicle serial/VIN number, mileage, company, contact names and phone numbers on all required documents.
  • Inspect all vehicles when obtaining VIN; inform customer if work is needed (lights, blades, etc), and provide an estimate for additional repairs.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer, Service, Parts and Sales Departments.
  • Obtain as much information about the customer and vehicle data upon their arrival
  • Inform the customer of all promotions and services provided by the dealership, including Parts and New Truck Sales
  • Verify the customer’s method of payment before the required repairs begin
  • Ensure accuracy of customer data in our computer system

  • Hands on work, get in there and fix it
  • Test vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and are running properly
  • Coordinate with the back counter parts technicians to ensure parts for the repair are in stock or ordered to perform repairs and maintenance

Experience

  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience in the industry is not necessary, however preference will be given to those with experience in heavy duty trucks or automotive, especially with commercial vehicle experience
  • Basic understanding and ability to operate a computer including Microsoft Office programs and internal programs
  • Must be able to work in a high pressure environment safely Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, customers and the general public

Education/Certification

  • Post Secondary Diploma or University Degree in related field, is an asset
  • Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license, is an asset
